WebJun 11, 2024 · 1. @ngungo - no, lumber isn't normally sold in 9' lengths. Usually it's in 2 foot increments from 8 - 16' long. You can get longer if needed, but it gets really pricey after that. If you need a 9' stud, you buy 10-footers and cut them down. WebMay 1, 2024 · My architect said that because of the 10' high walls they would need to be framed with 2x6's (according to Ontario building code), but I'm nearly certain I've seen recent builds that have 10' high walls that were framed with 2x4's. I've not been able to specifically find anything to prove/disprove this yet.
