Cura crashes when slicing
WebDec 22, 2024 · After slicing, when I attempt to save the file Cura shuts down. The file is saved but it is not the complete GCODE. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Cura; it still crashed. I tried updating Windows from 10 to 11; it still crashed. This is the Ultimaker Forum and so the Creaity version of Cura is not supported here. You would need to go back to Creality for support for their slicer. My printer is an Ender 3 Pro so I'm aware that my previous sentence is useless. Why not move up to a newer version of Cura?

Since you don't have that application installed, we are going to have to diagnose other reasons for Cura crashing. WebCura indeed doesn't use the GPU to slice. However if you're using the CPU to simulate the GPU (i.e. software rendering) then it could indeed slow down the slicing. fmaush • 3 yr. ago You don't need one, but I would buy an used one on eBay to get acceptable render times. The settings appear slowly one after another. Tried it on a few different machines (Workstations and laptops) and there is no difference.
